Major scales, like the C major scale we saw on the last slide, are very common in music.

All major scales are built with the same formula: "W W H W W W", where:

"W" means the next note is a whole step (2 keys) higher than the previous note.
"H" means the next note is a half step (1 key) higher than of the previous note.

To figure out the notes in any major scale, you simply pick a note and follow the major scale formula.
